A wire joining and tensioning systems manufacturer has applied its innovative track record and engineering experience to launch a range of solar accessories providing new alternatives in securing, stabilising and optimising solar farms.
UK-based Gripple has introduced a series of frame stability, cable management and bi-facial securing products as well as after-sales support to create a full-service solution.
All the products have been developed to be greener, safer, simpler to install and more versatile, including a bracing kit which offers an alternative to heavy steelwork, using zinc aluminium coated cables and innovative wire tensioning devices. The lightweight solution has less packaging, a reduced transport space and negates the need for on-site machinery making it ideal for hard-to-reach, rough or remote places.
In areas with restricted depths, such as brownfields, landfills and rocky ground, the lightweight anchoring can reduce the size of deep piles and act as a secondary foundation, ideal for difficult terrains. High loads can be managed with minimal disturbance, overcoming uplift, movement and overturning. This less invasive method also means land can be quickly and easily remediated if the structures are removed.
Above ground data and power cable management, as an alternative to trenching, has been developed for easier access and greater visibility for maintenance without the need for digging and soil disturbance. The corrosion-resistant CR System Hangers are designed to increase the life of cables and carry high loads, whilst being lightweight, easy to transport, handle and install. With a life of around 30 years, they can be stacked to allow more capacity.
Gripple’s alternative to securing bifacial matting is an anchoring solution which offers uplift capabilities, a durable lifespan and is quick-to-install.
Dean Barlow, product manager at Gripple, explains: “The Gripple ethos has always been to continuously innovate and we aim to generate 25% of our turnover from products which are less than five years old, so we have applied the advanced technology which has been highly successful in other industries to the solar market.
“Manufacturing products which are more efficient, more environmentally friendly, easier to handle and install, save time and are more cost effective are at the forefront of everything we do and this range for the solar industry brings a new way of approaching solar installations with products which require less materials, transport movements, labour, tools and skills.”
Gripple is a 100% employee-owned company which provides solutions for construction, ground engineering, civil, agricultural, landscaping and seismic bracing applications.
