The new Evo II smart crop conditioning fan from Evans & Pearce is said to offer a 50% reduction in energy use when compared to a standard 1.1kW fan, achieved thanks to a redesigned impeller and fan scroll. This is coupled with a 15% increase in air flow, which the company states will deliver superior crop conditioning.
It also features a built-in temperature control, meaning that the machine will only run when ambient air conditions are correct for cooling the crop. It connects to a 200mm top pipe and features carry handles for easy positioning when required.
According to Evans & Pearce, while the initial investment is higher than a standard fan, the Evo II has a payback period of just three years based on the energy savings, while the improved quality of stored grain and reduce spoilage should provide improved crop returns for growers.
