Albanwise Farming Ltd, which covers over 12,000 hectares across Norfolk and Yorkshire, has adopted the Geofolia crop recording software, supplied and supported by Landmark Systems. It follows thirteen years, in which the company used another system.

Geofolia has introduced into the UK in 2017 and has been available across Europe for nearly a decade. It offers a straightforward map-based interface and can be used as a straightforward mobile application, with all the tools required to meet compliance obligations and analyse performance. A recent survey confirmed that user satisfaction in the UK is at 96%.

Tom Dye, CEO and director at Albanwise Farming said: “Our Farm Managers’ time is precious and needs to be focussed on optimising field tasks. An intuitive, logical and modern platform for crop recording and field-level analysis is essential in supporting our farming and estate management decisions. Geofolia is easy to navigate from initial data input through to data analysis and therefore is a big step forward.”

He added that he was confident that the Geofolia smartphone app will contribute to timely decision making, with real-time updates from the office, managers and operators in the field reducing the opportunity for mistakes.

The transition from their previous system to Geofolia has taken two years and Mr Dye said of the consultations with Landmark Systems: “Landmark’s team have always been responsive to our questions and suggestions for improvements to the programme before we made our commitment. We are sure their expertise will assist us in a seamless transition.”

Landmark consultant Robert Knobel-Forbes who handled negotiations said: “We look forward to working closely with Albanwise Farming’s progressive management team. We are currently in the setup phase, ensuring that Geofolia is configured correctly for the business both now and as it expands in the future.”

On Thursday 29th April, Landmark Systems is hosting a live virtual demonstration of Geofolia at 2pm. Places are available on a first-come, first-served basis and can be booked at www.landmarksystems.co.uk
