French cooperative group to offer rental fleet of 130 Bobcat telehandlers

Bobcat and Camacuma have reached an agreement for the purchase of 130 TL38.70HF telescopic handlers, the largest ever single telehandler deal in the company’s history.

Camacuma is the internal national Cuma Agricultural Equipment Purchasing Centre, formed to carry out group purchasing on behalf of French cooperative groups and offer long-term rental packages to reduce machinery costs on farms in France.

A Cuma is a cooperative of French farmers, of which there are 11,740 in France totalling 202,000 members.

The first delivery of 10 machines, as part of the deal, was made in February 2021. These are already available to hire for Cuma members. The remaining 120 units will be delivered in a number of batches by the end of June this year.

    New features made the difference

Bobcat reported that the versatility and efficiency of these machines made the difference when negotiating this deal. The company’s dealer network across France was also highlighted as a considerable asset for everyone involved, as was the fact that all the Bobcat telehandlers have been developed and manufactured at the Pontchâteau production facility in France.

Roy Haaker, vice president sales & marketing Bobcat EMEA, explained: “We have ticked all the boxes to meet Camacuma’s expectations. The proven and recognized quality of our telehandlers is our biggest asset. Our strong dealer network in France allows us to provide local service and ensure continuity of service when needed. Finally, because our machines are ‘Made in France’, supported by a French team, we had all the arguments to win the deal.”

Yves-Mary Houdmon, Camacuma president, confirmed: “We chose Bobcat telehandlers for their performance, comfort and reliability. These machines meet strict Camacuma requirements to provide solid and robust machines for long-term rental to Cuma members. We provide the equipment and guarantee its operation. The warranty and aftersales service for the machines will be provided by the local Bobcat dealers. The real peace of mind for us is the commitment from Bobcat to respond within 48 hours. This is a new service for Cumas and we are delighted to inaugurate it with Bobcat.”

The Bobcat TL38.70HF telescopic loaders are available for hire with a pallet fork and grapple bucket but are also ready to be used with multiple other attachments.
