Free on-farm harvester demos from Grimme

Sugar beet growers across the UK can now benefit from in-field demonstrations for the latest harvester from Grimme UK, allowing potential new customers the opportunity to trial the new Rexor model within their own land and evaluate its effectiveness in individual environments.

The Rexor 6200 with its 30m3 bunker volume is the model available for on-farm demonstrations which, along with the Rexor 6300 (with a 45m3 bunker volume) were unveiled by Grimme at its Farm Days event earlier this year. Both models feature redesigned digging attachments with seven cleaning rollers (rather than the six on previous models) to ensure a more powerful and intensive clean.

Unobstructed driver views and Oppel wheel digging units with four beet feelers are key features of the Rexor models. The redesigned unit can be guided precisely along the row and at the optimum height, improving the auto pilot’s steering behaviour when cornering. With this new concept of height guidance, the view into the digging unit is improved, as there is no need for a feeler wheel shaft between the chopper and the Oppel wheel.

Equipped with the CCI 1200 ISOBUS operator terminal and the Grimme SmartView video system, the Rexor models allow the driver to easily display video images in real-time or slow motion to check the current work result. Up to eight camera images can be displayed on the 12-inch touchscreen monitor.

Tom Howlet, Grimme UK’s beet specialist explained that the new Rexors are the company’s most advanced harvesters to date. He said: “The harvesters were really well received when they were unveiled in Germany in the summer. We expect the same levels of interest from UK growers, and we’re confident that when they see it operating in their fields, they’ll be suitably impressed.”

Growers wanting to book a demonstration or request further information should contact Mr Howlet at GRIMME UK on 01205 822 300 or t.howlet@grimme.co.uk
