xFarm Technologies joins with Dyson Farming to digitise over 13,600ha

xFarm Technologies has partnered with Dyson Farming to announce a three-year digital agricultural project focused on data-driven efficiency to support the future of sustainable food production.

xFarm Technologies is a leading pan-European tech company for the digitalisation of the agri-food industry. They are implementing a project to further increase the efficiency of farm operations management at Dyson Farming.

This specially developed platform will collect and process data for Dyson Farming’s management and record keeping. It will also network agricultural machinery and equipment to track their use and increase efficiency.

Dyson Farming, founded in 2012, classes itself as the UK’s largest farming business, covering 14,600ha of farmland across Oxfordshire, Somerset, Lincolnshire, West Berkshire and Gloucestershire, focussed on sustainability and technology-led innovation.

On the platform developed by xFarm Technologies, they have already registered nearly 1,000 fields, nearly 1,500ha of environmental features, more than 100 warehouses, and a fleet of over 250 machines, including tractors and equipment.

A total of 70 employees from Dyson Farming and three teams from xFarm Technologies are involved in the project.

Matteo Vanotti, CEO of xFarm Technologies, says: “Dyson Farming is incredibly advanced in the use of cutting-edge technology and focused on innovation, efficiency and sustainability, so we are especially proud to be their partner in this tailor-made project to make their operations management even more efficient.

“We are extremely proud to enter the UK market with such an ambitious project. As a company founded by farmers for farmers, we at xFarm Technologies understand that the work of a farm is way more complex than one might think.

“Luckily, innovative technologies allowing data collection can be extremely helpful in making farm management easier and more effective. That’s why our R&D team, our AI engineers and data scientists work every day to develop hardware and software solutions that enable us to support companies in the agri-food sector in every aspect of their work.”

Ben Abell, head of agronomy at Dyson Farming added: “By implementing xFarm, we will be able to make more informed decisions and provide full traceability for our consumers. This will ensure that every grain, root or berry of the 100,000 tonnes of food we produce each year can be traced back to the place it was grown, bringing transparency to the delicious food we eat, and the ability to share the data and evidence of the nature and environmental improvements incorporated into its production.”
