    CNH sells Kongskilde brand

Following the sale of the Överum plough business to the German company Faircap, Case New Holland (CNH) has announced that the wider Kongskilde business and related assets have been sold to Seko Industries S.r.l.

The decision reportedly aligns with the company’s strategy to concentrate on its core agriculture brands and their product portfolios.

This comes just weeks after New Holland brand president Carlo Lambro reiterated at a press event that the company still aimed to be a full-liner.

Sean Lennon, vice president for Europe, clarified these comments at the same event, stating that the full-liner ambition would look different depending on the market.

For example, in North and South America,  there were still opportunities within crop production. In Europe, however, the company believed that there was too much competition in the market and the dealers’ yards to justify continued investment.

A statement from the company reads: “Effective immediately CNH will cease production of these products at our manufacturing facility in Kutno, Poland. We will retain these premises and workforce to manufacture different product lines.

“CNH acquired the Kongskilde brand in 2016. The brand produces tillage, seeding and hay & forage implements, specifically stubble cultivators, seedbed cultivators, interrow cultivators, stone collectors, seed drills, pull type forage harvesters and diet mixers.

“The products were distributed under the Kongskilde Brand through an independent dealer network and under the New Holland brand through its own dealer network.

“90% of sales for Kongskilde products were in Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.”
