Designed by student Martin Darley, the new Sumo T-Press is a one-pass cultivation, consolidation and press, filling a gap in the market previously covered by Simba.
It comprises two rows of 30mm heavy-duty tines, either sprung or rigid, followed by an adjustable levelling board that breaks up clods and smooths the soil surface ahead of the roller.
According to the company, this is a key selling point of the machine, with the combination of tines and levelling boards enabling it to break down ploughing and create a seedbed in a single pass. To suit different conditions, a wide range of tine points are available, with the working depth adjustable down to 150mm and can be lifted out of work if not required.
The machine is completed with a double packer roller, which completes the seedbed and also carries the weight of the machine when turning on the headland.
