Krone has announced a new MX generation of its loading and forage transport wagons.
All models are fitted with the OptiGrass system and feature a new design that enables a low deadweight and new drive technology.

“The focus here is particularly on low drag resistance combined with optimum
cutting quality to ensure the best forage results,” explains Christian Dresselhaus, product manager for transport technology.
Capacities range from 30cu m up to 38cu m, with a design suited to customers requiring low drag resistance and efficiency. The new design drops around 1t of weight compared to the previous model.
The low-profile MX310 is designed for traditional farm buildings, especially when feeding fresh grass, or for working on slopes. The remaining two models are said to strike a balance between the compact design and higher capacities.
The EasyFlow pick-up is fitted as standard, and has been widened by 20cm to 2.02m. It is now driven hydraulically, enabling the rotational speed to be adjusted from the tractor cab. Central suspension also enables it to follow ground contours.
The OptiGrass cutting unit uses a 760mm integral rotor, with wide steel plates and the SplitCut edge-cutting system. Two variants are available, with the 37 featuring 39 blades for a chop length of 37mm, while the 28 can achieve 28mm with 52 blades.
At the conveyor system, the chain tensioner has been moved to the rear of the machine. This both ensures easy access and allows the conveyor to extend all the way to the rotor. It’s driven by the PowerBelt system, rated to 2,000Nm and designed for tractors up to 250hp.
The MX is available with either a combined unit or a hydraulic running gear and can be fitted with 22.5in or 26.5in tyres. The drawbar is designed as an articulated drawbar, with bottom hitching, together with standard self-steering or optional hydraulic forced steering.
