Specialist agriculture sector dealership K O Machines recently supplied an 8.6m Muthing MU-Pro/F Vario front and rear-mounted hydraulic folding flail to salad grower PDM Produce, based near Newport, Shropshire.

Darren Winstanley, sales and product support specialist for K O Machines, said: “PDM Produce were looking to replace a machine they had used for just a couple of years and the Muthing reputation for build quality and performance, convinced them it was the ideal option for their business.”

Workshop manager for PDM Produce, Mark Turner added: “The decision to go for the MU-Pro/F Vario was influenced by the range of Muthing qualities, particularly the versatile shearbar option which allows us to increase or decrease the cut length.”

This is the first 8.6m MU-Pro/F Vario to be sold in the UK. According to Simon Richard, UK agent for the Muthing range, the unit is ideal for tractors up to 400hp and comprises a specially designed hood in conjunction with high rotor and cutting speeds for enhanced mulching and shredding action. The Muthing Vario system is fitted as standard, as is the patented Shark Fin removable shredding bar system.

A key feature is the MU-SOFA weight transfer system which ensures consistent ground following across the full working width. For transport, the MU-Pro/F Vario folds to 2.85m with a total height below 4m.
