Lemken ploughs get new overload protection

The latest OptiStone automatic overload protection from Lemken is available on Juwel, Diamant and Titan plough ranges, comprising a closed system of stable leg plates to protect against dirt and foreign objects and a newly designed swivel bracket to ensure high lateral tripping forces and optimal plough control in stony conditions.

When an obstacle is encountered the overload element simultaneously deflects up to 37cm upwards and 20cm to the side, providing a sufficiently large range to ensure disruption free work, even during deep ploughing. Tripping force can be continuously adjusted from the driver’s seat to suit changing soil conditions.

If the system catches below a slab or roots, it is additionally protected by a double-cut shear bolt to prevent damage to the plough.

The OptiStone system features high-strength radial spherical plain bearings to keep the plough bodies stable as the system deflects and is reportedly durable, reliable, and easily accessible for maintenance. Plough bodies are firmly connected to the three-dimensional bearing points and cannot unhitch, said to be a clear advantage compared to the more common four-point suspension systems on the market.
