Paxtons keen to welcome farmers at Great Yorkshire Show

Paxton keen to welcome farmers at Great Yorkshire Show with JCB franchise

Confirmation that the Great Yorkshire Show is going ahead this year, has been received by agricultural suppliers Paxtons with open arms as they are keen to welcome farmers to a relaxed social setting and show them the latest products from manufacturers they represent.

The head office branch of JG Paxton & Sons is at Pity Me near Durham but its operations extend to a total of five branches, with those at Northallerton and Bentham near Lancaster providing vital service and parts support – as well as sales – across North Yorkshire.

JCB is one of the dealership’s key franchises, supplying and supporting the British manufacturer’s Fastrac tractors, Loadall telescopic handlers, loading shovels and telescopic wheeled loaders, and the many other handling machines produced in JCB’s distinctive yellow and black colours.

“The Yorkshire Show provides a great shop window for the JCB products that farmers and contractors rely on for daily handling tasks throughout the year,” said Will Paxton. “And with JCB having launched a lot of new products so far this year, we’re expecting a lot of questions and interest.”

The latest ‘Stage V’ versions of the universally popular Loadall telescopic handlers have more powerful ‘green’ JCB engines, an extensive choice of transmissions and an additional model in the Loadall 532-60 Agri Super.

This is the most compact of the full-size models and comes with JCB’s unique DualTech VT hydro-mechanical transmission for the first time – it was previously only available in larger top-spec machines, so its combination of low-speed hydrostatic and higher speed powershift elements is more accessible to smaller livestock farms with the newcomer.

Among the wheeled loaders, the new ultra-compact JCB 403 Agri Plus is by far the smallest; but at 50hp, it has twice the power of the current model for increased performance in and around farm yards.

At the other end of the size and performance scale, the new TM series telescopic wheeled loaders have been thoroughly upgraded with a new cab giving much improved forwards and upwards visibility, and a unique eight-speed transmission option with 50kph capability.

These features, together with big wheel and tyre options and a 173hp JCB engine – making it the most powerful of all telescopic handlers – gives this machine a real performance boost for silage clamp work and loading muck spreaders.

“We’ve had a lot of interest from contractors and large dairy units in the new TM420S,” added Will Paxton. “We’re looking forward to arranging on-farm demonstrations after the unit we have on order is delivered.”

The Great Yorkshire Show is being held in Harrogate over four days this year – 13-16 July; members of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society will need their membership card as well as badges to visit and to regulate numbers, general entry tickets can only be purchased online or by telephone; there will be no ticket sales on the gate.
