Hella introduces new series of work lamps

    S-series Work Lamps

Hella, which specialises in automotive components, is launching a new work lamp series for agricultural machinery, construction machinery, forklifts, trucks, trailers and municipal vehicles, designed to complement the existing Modul 70, Modul 90 and Power Beam ranges.

“The central goal was to develop a high-quality yet affordable LED work lamp. To this end, our many years of experience and lighting expertise have been incorporated into the development phase to bring a product onto the road that is optimised in every respect and is ‘simple, steady and streamlined’,” said Stefan Maierhofer, the product manager responsible for work lamps at HELLA. “So, the new S-series work lamps are easy to retrofit, consistently withstand the operating conditions and offer excellent value for money.”

The S-Series is said to provide homogeneous illumination with a colour temperature of around 6,500 Kelvin, similar to daylight. Compared to halogen devices, it offers high efficiency thanks to its lumen-watt performance and fulfils the highest EMC requirements. It’s also claimed that manufacturers can use the lamps to give their vehicles a unique look because the company’s logo can be integrated into the reflector if desired.

It’s available in round and square designs and as surface-mounted or flush-mounted variants. The universal and slim design means that companies can easily convert their halogen headlamps to LED technology. It’s produced in Austria, with special plastics used to develop the housing and the lens to reduce the weight and provide corrosion resistance.

The new cooling fin design ensures optimum heat dissipation to increase the efficiency and lifetime of the work laps, while integrated thermal management helps to further increase the lamp life. They produce their full light output at ambient temperatures between -40°C and +50°C and automatically dim if there is a risk of overheating.

The S-Series is available in close range and long-range illumination variants. 1,000-lumen versions will be launched in early summer, followed by 2,000-lumen products in autumn. A 4,000-lumen version of the Modul 90 S-Series will also be available at the end of the year.
