Massey Ferguson has announced that it will be the main sponsor of Wales Young Farmers’ Club activities during the Royal Welsh Show 2022.

The firm will cover sponsorship of Young People’s Village and Wales YFC Stage Competitions throughout the show which takes place at Llanelwedd, Builth Wells, 18-21 July.

“MF has been a long-time supporter of Wales YFC but this is our most substantial commitment to date and the first time we have sponsored these key activities at the prestigious Royal Welsh,” said Lindsay Haddon, Massey Ferguson advertising and sales promotion manager. “It’s a busy working event for members as well as one of the biggest social occasions in the YFC calendar. We’re really looking forward to being part of Wales YFC’s Royal Welsh experience!”

The Young People’s Village, organised by Wales YFC, is based at a campsite facility located at nearby Court Farm and attracts more than 15,000 visitors to its schedule of activities and entertainment. Royal Welsh YFC competitions take place at the showground itself and feature a real mix of challenges – from sheep shearing and stock judging to dancing and flower arranging.

“We are very thankful for Massey Ferguson’s ongoing support to us and their sponsorship at this year’s Royal Welsh,” said Caryl Haf, chairman Wales YFC. “It means a lot that businesses are here to support us – the young – who are the future of agriculture within Wales and further afield.”

In recent years, MF has also hosted Wales YFC members at its tractor manufacturing facility in France, held Machinery Maintenance and Safety workshops for members at local MF dealers and supported the Wales YFC Rural Affairs conference.

The Wales Federation of Young Farmers Clubs is a voluntary youth organisation operating bilingually throughout rural Wales. Over 5,000 young people aged between 10 and 26 years are currently members of the organisation, all of whom are members of a network of 157 YFC Clubs and twelve County Federations.
