Farmers raise more than £3,000 for The Farming Community Network

More than 640 farmers raised £3,245 for The Farming Community Network (FCN) charity, after taking part in an industry survey which pledged to donate £5 to the FCN for every survey completed.

In total, 649 farm workers completed the ‘Marketing to Farmers’ survey, put on by the digital specialists Hillsgreen. Hillsgreen then presented a cheque for £3,245 to representatives from the FCN at this year’s Cultivate conference.

Andy Venables, managing director of Hillsgreen, said: “Our ‘Marketing to Farmers’ research is an opportunity for us to discover how the industry wants to be engaged with, so that agricultural brands can better communicate with farmers and understand their needs.”

And, as the FCN is a charity and voluntary organisation that supports farmers and families, within the farming community, through difficult times, Mr Venables said that Hillsgreen wanted to use the opportunity to give back to the industry.

“So, for every person that took the time to talk to us, we donated to the FCN, resulting in our biggest donation from the survey to date,” he added.

In response to the donation, Jude McCann, CEO of the FCN, said: “This generous donation to FCN from Hillsgreen will help us to continue to provide support to the farming community during an especially challenging time in agriculture. We are very grateful to everyone who took the time to fill in the survey, provide their views and raise funds for our charity.”
