Rea Valley Tractors has reached an agreement to acquire the neighbouring dealership Teme Valley Tractors, both of which offer products from New Holland and Kuhn Farm Machinery.

Teme Valley Tractors has a long history in the region dating back to 1983 and the sale is said to offer customers a greater range of equipment from the two mainline brands, as well as additional franchises including JCB, Bailey Trailers and Milwaukee and Stihl.

The Teme Valley depots at Welshpool and Knighton will continue to trade, and employees will transfer to Rea Valley at the targetted completion date at the end of September. This includes Graham Probert and Martyn Hall from the management team.

Simon Clarke, chairman of Rea Valley Tractors said: “The agricultural machinery industry has been through a period of substantial change; RVT has been at the forefront of that. I am delighted to have reached an amicable agreement with Graham and Martyn to acquire TVT. This acquisition will benefit all our stakeholders: customers, staff and suppliers. I look forward to working with Graham, Martyn and the TVT teams over the coming years.”

Following this acquisition, Rea Valley will operate nine depots, each with a fully functional sales, service and parts operation. This is combined with a roving parts van, in-house product specialists and a five-person dedicated Precision Agriculture team.

Graham Probert, managing director at Teme Valley Knighton said: “We’re welcoming the agreement, as it brings clear opportunities and benefits for both our customers and our respective teams. Both companies have the same shared family values and dedication to understanding and focusing on the customers’ needs; each with a well-established and knowledgeable team, and we look forward to the next chapter with Rea Valley Tractors.”
