Polaris has announced an expansion to its Ranger UTV range with the new Ranger 500 – initially launched in America last year.
“We’ve seen how well the RANGER 500 resonates with customers looking for a dependable, easy-to-use machine at an accessible price point,” said Chris Judson, vice president, Polaris Off Road Vehicles, International.
“Bringing this model into Europe allows us to meet the needs of even more customers who want a straightforward mid-size utility vehicle that delivers on both capability and value, backed by Polaris’ legacy of off-road excellence.”
It is powered by a ProStar 500 engine, tuned for low-end torque for handling haulage and undulating terrain. This is packaged into a compact frame that is just under 1,500mm wide for tight yards and bridlepaths.
It comes as standard with an enclosed cabin, with simplified controls including auto-locking front drive for automated switchover into 4WD. A selectable turf mode is also included.
The winch can handle up to 1,134kg, and it has a gas-assisted cargo bed with a 227kg capacity and a towing capacity of 680kg.
The continuous variable transmission is designed and manufactured by Polaris. A host of options are also available, including front windshield and rear panelling, extra LED lighting and additional storage.
