Pöttinger launches 8m and 9m Terrasem machines

In response to shortening weather windows, Pöttinger has introduced two new models in the Terrasem range, offering working widths of 8m and 9m.

These new trailed seed drills can be modified to suit individual conditions, available without tillage tools for working in prepared seedbed, with a traditional disc harrow for mulch drilling, or with the optional Wave Disc for loosening the soil in strips.

Tillage tools are configured to eliminate crabbing during operation. The disc harrow, fertiliser coulters (when specified) and the dual disc seed coulters are arranged in an X configuration. They are also maintenance-free, mounted on sealed bearings.

Two metering systems are fitted as standard, offering seeding rates between 1.5kg and 420kg, even at speeds of 12kph, with rate adjustment done from the tractor cab. The hopper capacity is 5,600 litres as standard.

Depending on the specification, Pöttinger offers multiple sowing options with the new Terrasem machine, with single shoot, double shoot and double shoot-mix operations possible. This enables operators to place seed, seed and fertiliser, seed mixtures and additional components such as microgranules or a companion crop.

Pöttinger has also made the Terrasem models compatible with the agrirouter data sharing platform.
