The Kverneland and Vicon portfolios have undergone a host of updates, both with their crossover products and the individual product ranges.
Starting with products that crossover between the brands first, both have new Tellus 700 and 1200 universal Isobus terminals. The 700 features a 7in display, increasing to 12in on the 1200, the latter of which can display up to four operations at any one time, providing increased information to the operator without moving through the various pages.
It’s stated that a key advantage for both models is the modular licensing structure available, with users able to scale their precision farming systems depending on need. This includes section control and variable rate. They are also future-proofed, capable of working with the Kverneland Turbo T i-Tiller to adjust cultivation depth based on application maps or fully integrating the Vicon grassland range to adjust bale density or automatically lift mowers and control overlap for the mowers.
Dropping a swath
Kicking off the in-field machinery section of the launches was a new range of front-mounted plain disc mowers, available in Vicon (Extra 300F) or Kverneland (2800 F) branding. Three working widths are available, starting at 2.8m and 3.2m, with a new 3.6m model to maximise capacity and provide more overlap when used in combination with a rear butterfly unit.
It connects to the tractor linkage without the need for an A-frame and features a two-speed driveline, running at 1,000rpm pto speed as standard, but also capable of running at 750rpm by switching the pulleys to minimise fuel consumption. To follow ground contours, the front mower moves independently from the tractor linkage, moving upwards 430mm and downwards 210mm, while also pivoting each side by up to 17deg.
A non-stop breakaway system is included as standard, moving the mower backwards and up when it encounters an obstacle to protect the cutterbar and driveline.
Shifting to the back of the tractor, a new non-conditioning butterfly disc mower has been introduced with a 9.5m working width. Available as the Vicon Extra 495 or the Kverneland 5395 QuattroLink, both include the four-arm QuattroLink suspension system for improved ground following, fully integrated here to minimise the overall weight of the machine and reduce the horsepower requirement. Key to the system is the ability to lift each side of the butterfly setup 400mm, or move downwards 300mm, with individual adaption of each mowing unit of 30deg.
Each 3.6m mower has nonstop breakaway protection, working in the same way as on the front mower, and the 9.5m machine folds to less than 3m for transport, with each cutterbar folding beyond the 90deg vertical angle to maintain a safe centre of gravity. As an option, the outer guards can also be hydraulically controlled to fold into the transport position without leaving the cab.
Smart Search
Both Kverneland and Vicon customers can now easily find genuine spare parts with the Smart Search function, integrated into the online parts catalogue, MyKverneland and MyVicon. Using image recognition technology, the system can recognise the part required using an image taken by the customer. Once the part is identified, it links directly to the ordering system.
