In a move that few would have seen coming, Horsch has entered the forestry market. It’s the result of collaboration with Gepima, a company founded in 2022 by long-term Horsch employees Michael and Markus Pirkenseer, as well as Reinhold Rösel.
The collaboration comes to market under the brand name Horsch Pirk.
The first products from the new forestry arm are the Pirk 16 MP and 20 MP forwarder trailers, offering 16t and 20t capacities respectively. Both feature a hydraulically adjustable drawbar with a lateral movement range of 104cm and a vertical range of 40cm for control in difficult terrains. During transport, the drawbar is locked into position from the cabin.
A choice of cranes is available, with a reach of up to 10m, and the machine is fully homologated for 40kph road speeds.
The new Pirk range will make its UK debut at next year’s APF Exhibition on the 24th-26th of September in Warwickshire.
