Hi-Spec to highlight new options at Lamma

Designed for the Kompactor trailers and the company’s range of slurry tankers, with tandem or tridem chassis, Hi-Spec has introduced the new hydraulic suspension system.

According to the company, the main benefit is that the system can self-stabilise on slopes, as well as providing a smoother ride over rough ground.

Each wheel acts independently to effectively dampen undulations. When working on side slopes, this will also mitigate the risk of rollover.

Operators can raise and lower the chassis level as required, and during transport, when the tanker or trailer is empty, the front axle can be raised to limit tyre wear.

    Electric steering

The company will also introduce an electronic steering system for machines with tandem or tridem running gear, said to offer the same benefits as a forced hydraulic system but with the added function of crab steer.

It uses sensors on the axles, which measure steering and the direction of travel, as well as a gyroscope to sense orientation changes.

It’s connected to the Isobus system and each axle can be controlled by the operator or fully automatically. When travelling above a certain speed (set by the operator), the axles will automatically lock.

    On the stand

At Lamma, Hi-Spec will showcase the Tri-SR tanker, offering a capacity of 22,700 litres and mounted on a commercial tridem chassis, with a semi-recessed design to lower the overall height. It comes with a 14,000 litre capacity Jurop pump and an 8in autofill/turbo fill system,  and hydraulic drawbar suspension.

Also on the stand will be the Xcel 1250 rear discharge muckspreader, which utilises a combination of shredding rotor and two spreading rotors. Spread patterns up to 24m are possible, with capacities of 12 or 20t depending on the model.

Completing the range on show is the K36 Kompactor push-off trailer, with a hydraulically operated headboard, powered by a triple ram system. According to the company, this will increase capacity by up to 40%, as well as emptying the machine in just 30sec.
