Lamma to showcase new Syngenta innovation

Crop protection specialist Syngenta will unveil a host of new products at January’s Lamma show, designed to aid more accurate and efficient application and product use.

The company’s new EvoPac packaging will make its UK debut, which is purpose designed to optimise use with the easyconnect – reportedly set to become the industry standard closed transfer system for sprayer operators.

EvoPac features a central high flow opening for a stable coupling into the easyconnect unit. It’s made from a rigid recyclable polymer, with integral moulded grips for quick and safe handling.

The easy clean, translucent packaging lets operators see how much has been transferred during filling and when the packs are thoroughly cleaned with the auto rinse system.

It can also be used with conventional filling sprayers and will be available for a range of Syngenta products this year, with the company aiming to replace all liquid packaging over the coming seasons.

Syngenta will also introduce the GranuPac, developed for Nemathorin granules to offer cleaner operation during potato planting. The 20kg bags include moulded grips and a new fast ring-pull opening.

For sprayer operators, Lamma offers the last chance to enter the prestigious Farm Sprayer Operator of the Year competition, which aims to recognise and reward sprayer operators who demonstrate best practise.

Further developments come in Syngenta’s digital agronomy toolbox, with major advances in the BlightCast potato disease forecasting system and the Quantis Heat Stress Forecast to optimise applications.

Investments in the Spray Assist App will enable it to handle greater levels of information. This spring, the system will be able to guide growers through the Axial Pro application to target early grass weed treatments and remove competitive wild oats and ryegrass.

Selecting the best nozzle and operating practices, tailored to the weed and the crop growth stage, will ensure the best results.
