Using an Agco Power six-cylinder engine, the Valtra Q265 offers a boosted output of 290hp, rising from 260hp, with 1,200Nm of torque available at 1,500rpm. The single turbocharger design is said to minimise maintenance, as well as requiring less cooling and fuel consumption to operate. The company has also done away with the exhaust gas recirculation, again reducing the required cooling capacity.
The power unit feeds into a stepless Agco ML260 transmission, with a top speed of 53kph, with a separate oil reservoir to the hydraulic system.
Speaking of the hydraulics and the Q265 is fitted with a 200 litres/min pump, with the option of an Eco unit enabling the same output at a lower engine speed. Self-closing flaps minimise dirt ingress, and a decompression lever is fitted for easy coupling.
Each valve has an adjustable flow of up to 140 litres/min, with four available at the front and up to five at the rear. The rear linkage can lift up to 10,000kg, while the front system has a capacity of 5,000kg.
Valtra remains the only tractor brand to fit air suspension to its front axle, which it states is maintenance-free and is not impacted by temperature, ensuring consistent performance in all conditions.
This is matched to the Auto Comfort cab suspension, which uses Canbus data to communicate with the shock absorbers and position sensors to automatically adjust to driving conditions.
The company’s Twin Trac reverse driving system is available, with the operator’s station rotating 180deg to face the rear linkage. This can be done without switching off the engine, to save downtime in the field, and uses a steer-by-wire system. According to the company, this can increase efficiency by up to 12%, while minimising head movements by up to 70%.
