Italian manufacturer Antonio Carraro says its TGF 7600 Infinity is the first low-profile orchard tractor with a continuously variable transmission.
At its centre is a Rehlko four-cylinder engine, producing 75hp and 300Nm. Full torque is available at 1,500rpm, with 80% available at just 1,000rpm.
The transmission is an in-house-designed combination of hydrostatic and mechanical components, which the company says will make power transfer more efficient. It features two mechanical ranges, with three electronically adjusted speeds within each range.
However, the unit can also be set to accelerate steplessly from 0- 40kph.
The tractor is built around the Actio oscillating chassis, which maintains a low centre of gravity while also enabling high ground clearance of 253mm, all-wheel steering and improved stability when working on slopes.
In the cabin, the company has maximised the compact dimensions, placing all controls around the drive lever on the right-hand side, as well as integrating features such as cruise control and two engine speed memory settings.
Antonio Carraro has integrated two open-centre hydraulic pumps, with 53 litres/min available to the four double-acting valves at the rear and 37 litres to the steering system and ancillaries. The rear linkage is rated to carry up to 2,700kg.
