The flagship of Massey Ferguson’s new 5S range offers up to 145hp, with 560Nm of torque available at 1,500rpm.
This is produced by the Agco Power engine, which has been adapted to include the company’s All-in-One aftertreatment technology.
It’s Dyna-VT continuously variable gearbox is a variation of the Vario system; a single range transmission with a top speed of 40kph. Two driving profiles can be set-up, and the operator can switch between the pedal and the lever on-the-fly. Brake-to-neutral is also part of the standard setup.
It uses a closed-centre, load-sensing hydraulic pump, producing up to 110 litres/min and supplying a mix of electric and mechanical valves, with up to four dedicated to either a front loader or a front linkage.
For those looking for loader tractor, the 5S can be finished with a Visio roof for greater visibility and comes with an electric joystick for proportional control of the loader. The 2,550mm wheelbase is said to offer increased stability, while the compact dimensions and narrow waist provide a 4m turning radius.
Massey Ferguson notes that this is a versatile machine, however, with a 9,500kg maximum operating weight, a 6,000kg rear linkage and the option of a 3,000kg front hitch.
