New Massey Ferguson 5M series to debut at EIMA

Massey Ferguson has announced the 5M series, with six tractors between 95hp and 145hp. The model is shortlisted for the Tractor of the Year Utility category, and will make it’s public debut at EIMA International, before coming to Lamma in the UK.

“Building on the highly successful MF 5700 M Series, the new dependable and effective MF 5M Series introduces a range of performance enhancing factory-fitted features to further improve operation, comfort and control,” says Jérôme Aubrion, director marketing, Europe & Middle East.

Each model is fitted with the latest AGCO Power four-cylinder engine, with the All-in-One emissions control system taking it to Stage V. Located beneath the cabin, with the exhaust in line with the front, right-hand post, this is said to provide excellent visibility.

For longer working days, the fuel capacity has been increased by 24%, providing 198 litres, which the company states is the largest in this sector.

Power is put to the ground through the Dyna-4 transmission, with clutch-free control of 16 gears, in forward and reverse and a top speed of 40kph.

At the rear of the machine, an open-centre, 58-litre/min hydraulic system is fitted as standard, with the option to increase this to 100 litres. Additionally, each model can be fitted with a factory-fit front loader, reportedly excelling in loading tasks thanks to its 4.65m turning circle.

Control of the loader is via a mechanical or electronic joystick, and there is a further option of the Visio Roof for increased visibility.

    Precision farming

All six 5M tractors can be specified with MF Guide, including the Fieldstar 5 terminal, or as MF Guide ready. This provides fully automatic steering with a choice of Trimble, or other receivers with a range of positioning accuracies.

When fitted with the Fieldstar terminal, operators can also gain access to additional Smart Farming options, including Isobus, section control, variable rate and MF Connect telemetry.

In the cabin, there is the option of an uprated air conditioning system, as well as a new suspension system said to provide greater shock absorption.

New LED work lights are available as an option, working alongside halogen lights, with the choice of two front and rear units, or two mid-mounts.

Finally, the livery has been matched to the Massey Ferguson family style, with a diamond grey cab and new sabre style with the model logo design on the side of the bonnet.

When purchased, the 5M benefits from the MF Services portfolio, with tailored financing solutions, aftersales service and genuine parts. It can also be put through the MF By You factory-fit options service and is available with MF Always Running courtesy fleet and MF Care extended warranty.
