The market-leading farm management software Herdwatch is to the fore once again having just released their new farm mapping technology in August, they are set to release their all-new sheep management app, ‘Flockwatch’ in early 2022.

“Flockwatch is going to be a big help to sheep farmers, and it shows the direction of travel for our business and that we are responding to demand from our existing members, with over a quarter of them also keeping sheep today.” CEO Fabien Peyaud said, adding that the new system will bring something completely new to sheep farmers in the form of an easy to use app that will allow farmers track their flock performance and profitability.

    Different needs

“It’s a similar concept to Herdwatch but also different as sheep farmers have much different needs to a beef or dairy farmer. Our mission to help to digitalise farming continues, and Flockwatch will give sheep farmers something that does not exist anywhere today with a feature set that is designed around how they farm throughout the year.”

“Up to this point, anyone who wants to manage their flock performance has very little to choose from. Herdwatch was created from the start by working with cattle farmers to build a solution that suited their needs and was easy to use. Flockwatch has been the same, but with sheep farmers.”

“With Flockwatch, sheep farmers will have an app at their fingertips that works seamlessly with EID readers, allowing rapid recording for lambing, compliance, weights and everything else they need to turn data into profit such as breeding productivity, animal health and growth.” Mr. Peyaud concluded.

    Success story

Herdwatch is a true success story in the Agtech sector, having become the number 1 farm management software across in the UK & Ireland since it was launched nearly 8 years ago – with an impressive 15,000 farmers actively using their software-as-a-service platform. They have made their name by delivering a simple, easy to use and reliable app which saves farmers an average of 3 hours a week on paperwork, according to a recent survey of their existing members.

With a team of almost 45 people, the company are now setting their sight on their next ambition centred around the new Flockwatch app and international growth, and they have good reasons to be optimistic on their chances of success.

This new app will be available in early 2022, but if you want to be kept up to date, please register your interest at www.flockwatch.com and you will be the first to know when it launches. The current Herdwatch app can be downloaded for free at www.herdwatch.com/download.
