Alpego takes direct control of its UK operations

Italian cultivation and drilling equipment manufacturer, Alpego Spa, has taken direct control of its operations in the UK and Ireland with the launch of a new wholly owned company, Alpego UK Limited. The new company will assume responsibility for import, distribution through Alpego’s dealer network, service and parts support with immediate effect.

“Over the past few years, Alpego has enjoyed significant growth in the UK and Ireland. A large and increasing number of farmers associate excellent build-quality and customer service with the Alpego brand, and this has driven the increasing demand for our products,” explained CEO for Alpego Spa and Alpego UK Ltd.,  Nicola Pegoraro.

“The change in our UK business structure is a natural evolution in our growth strategy,” added Mr Pegoraro. “It will facilitate much closer relationships with our growing dealer network and customer base, enabling us to respond even faster and more efficiently to their needs and to the challenges that lie ahead in a changing and increasingly competitive market.

“Crucially, the new company, wholly owned by Alpego, also provides the platform for an ambitious investment programme,” said Mr Pegoraro. “We have acquired new premises for the company in Fen Road, Frampton Fen, Boston, Lincolnshire and the staff have already moved in. It is a large, modern facility complete with workshops and warehousing for parts and whole goods for on-time supply to Alpego UK’s growing dealer network and customer base. As the hub for our UK and Ireland operations, the new facility will carry a large stockholding to protect our supply chains through periods of peak demand for parts and whole goods.

“The Alpego product range represents a key-line for many of our dealers. Accordingly, our new premises are equipped with training and conference facilities to enable sales and technician training to be conducted on site,” added Mr Pegoraro.

Alpego’s confidence in the future of its UK operations extends beyond the acquisition of its new, dedicated sales, parts and distribution centre, as Mr Pegoraro explained: “The skills and experience of our staff add real value, not only to Alpego UK, but also to the quality of service we extend to our customers. Our commitment to the UK market is underlined further by continued investment in research and development, with plans to update some existing products and introduce new technology already well advanced.

“Another important component of our growth strategy is the continued expansion of our dealer network across the UK and Ireland and we are actively seeking new partners who want to work with us to build strong, lasting and mutually beneficial relationships,” explained Mr Pegoraro.

Alpego has recently appointed new dealers both in Scotland and in Wales to strengthen the company’s position in these areas and to facilitate the further future growth anticipated by the company.
