De Sangosse will use Cereals to highlight solutions for contractors facing tightening spraying windows and increased workloads. Part of this will focus on the company’s Clean Water, Clean Kill and Tank to Target initiatives, both designed to help contractors and growers test water quality before filling the spray tank.
“Hard water can compromise performance before the spray even reaches the crop,” explains Phil Carpenter, managing director. “Calcium and magnesium ions can bind with glyphosate and other systemic herbicide actives, reducing uptake and making results far less predictable.”
Visitors to the stand will be able to pick up hard water test meters and three-step water routine cards; practical tools to identify water quality issues and make better-informed tank mix decisions.
Pod sealants
The company will also highlight its Pod-Stik product, which can be applied via a conventional boom sprayer or with a drone. Demonstrations will be held in partnership with AutoSpray Systems in the Sprays & Sprayers Arena, showing how drones can help improve timeliness when ground conditions are difficult.
According to De Sangosse, this will be particularly beneficial in bean crops, where the drone rotors increase airflow and improve coverage on the underside of the pods.
Slug control
Finally, visitors will have the chance to see the range of ferric phosphate slug pellets, developed with the company’s wet-process manufacturing system. According to De Sangosse, this improves pellet strength, enabling them to stay intact when leaving the machine. Independent tests showed that it was the only pellet to provide consistent distribution at working widths of up to 36m when applied using a Stocks Duo.
“When you’re applying at scale, there’s very little margin for inconsistency,” says Phil. “Growers need slug control that goes the distance, and contractors need pellets they can trust to spread evenly and stay intact once they’ve left the pelleter.”
The product also comes with seven-day pre-drilling approval, meaning timings can be adapted to take pressure out of establishment.
