    illycaffè achieves regenagri® certification

    Regenagri C.i.C. has announced illycaffè as the first coffee brand certified under its scheme.

    The new illycaffè coffee range, Arabica Selection Brazil Cerrado Mineiro, is produced and sourced under certified regenerative agriculture criteria, throughout its supply chain. illycaffè has worked alongside local coffee growers and the Federation of Cerrado Mineiro producers in Brazil for more than 30 years, and is committed to a continuous transition to regenerative farming, sourcing only regenagri® certified produce for this product range.

    Cristina Scocchia, CEO of illycaffè said: “The Arabica Selection Brazil Cerrado Mineiro coffee is the result of the relationship we’ve built with coffee producers and the Federation of Producers of Cerrado Mineiro over the years. We’ve a shared sense of urgency to find solutions to the negative effects of climate change.

    “In being aware this challenge can only be addressed by joining forces, we’ve identified the best techniques for ecosystem adaptation, mitigation and regeneration in producing the first 100% Arabica coffee sourced from certified regenerative agriculture practices and processes, certified by regenagri®.”

    Aiming to secure the health of the land and the wealth of those who live on it, regenagri® has tripled in growth over the last year and certifies around 20,000ha of land in coffee production, and more than 50 coffee producers, in Brazil alone.

    Franco Costantini, CEO at regenagri® said: “We’re delighted to be working with illycaffè and congratulate the company in being the first coffee brand to achieve regenagri® certification, meaning their entire supply chain is third-party certified, from farms to finished products.

    “As regenerative agriculture rapidly gains global momentum, it’s important that consumers are clear about which brands make credible and verified regenerative claims.

    “regenagri® certification is granted by Control Union, which has audited the farms and the processes behind producing Arabica Selection Brazil Cerrado Mineiro coffee, assuring the integrity of illycaffè’s certified coffee from farm to packed products.”
