McCormick dealer network grows with new Cumbrian supplier

Penrith dealership Burrow & Rutter-Armstrong has been appointed as a McCormick dealer as the Argo Tractors brand continues to fill the remaining gaps in its UK coverage.

The dealership was founded in late 2019 by Jordan Rutter-Armstrong and Daniel Burrow to serve farmers and contractors across the Eden Valley. It began with servicing and repairs, as well as trading in quality used and ex-hire tractors and secondhand machinery.

Since then, they have built a portfolio of franchises including McHale round balers and forage equipment, Trioliet mixer wagons, Polaris ATVs, Smyth trailers and Major tankers and mowers.

“Adding our first tractor franchise to the list of machinery lines we already retail was a natural next step for our business,” said Jordan, who focuses on machinery sales and service, while Daniel oversees UTV/ATV sales/service. Both are backed by a fully-equipped workshop and a team of skilled and experienced technicians.

“‘We saw McCormick as an excellent addition to our product portfolio, completing our range of franchises. It gives us a fantastic range of tractors, and with models from 44-310hp there’s something to cover all our customers’ needs in a mixed farming area in the heart of the Eden Valley and the surrounding region.’’

Ben Agar, business development director at Argo Tractors UK & Ireland, says he is pleased to have a young and hungry new dealership on the McCormick books to cover an important grassland area.

“We know there is significant untapped potential for McCormick sales across Cumbria, and I’m certain we have signed the best possible team in the area to take on the franchise and fulfil it. As a brand, McCormick is growing significantly and with a raft of new products, including the new X6.4, a finalist in the 2023 Tractor of the Year we are confident our tractors are as good as anything else on the market.

“Burrow & Rutter-Armstrong have got off to a great start since signing with us, and we are looking forward to supporting them and their customers over the coming years.”
