Pöttinger introduces new generation of hitch-mounted plough

The new Servo 4000 from Pöttinger is said to be kitted out for the future, with an intuitive control system, robust turnover mechanism and high-strength frame with optimised mounting geometry.

It’s offered in Standard, Nova, Plus and Plus Nova variants, with four to six furrows and a point-to-point clearance of 95cm or 102cm. The Nova and Plus Nova models include hydraulic stone protection, with an adjustable trigger up to 1,400kg, preventing damage to the plough and allowing the operation to continue without interruption.

Underbeam clearance is 80cm as standard, with the option to increase this to 90cm.

Pöttinger has developed the headstock of the Servo 4000 to suit different power classes of tractor, with standard mounting axles, and the option of a mounting axle with an enclosed linkage and steered axle as required. Depending on the equipment options, the Servo 4000 can be used with tractors from 140hp up to 360hp.

The newly designed Servomatic control centre, with a four-joint linkage, is said to make it easier to set up the plough correctly and adjust it to different tractors. The beam angle and front furrow width can be adjusted in just a few steps, with a clearly visible scale to help the operator find the right front furrow position.

A curved cast yoke is said to increase the range of adjustment available, and the plough can be adjusted to suit inside track widths from 1,000mm up to 1,500mm.

When hydraulic width adjustment is specified, the four-joint linkage automatically adjusts the front furrow when the furrow width is changed. Likewise, the pull point changes automatically to maintain the ideal pull line. If required, the working width on Plus and Plus Nova machines can be hydraulically adjusted to suit soil conditions.

Other features include the Traction Control system, which enables the operator to transfer weight from the plough to the rear axle of the tractor, resulting in an increase in traction and reduced wheel slip. According to the company, this can reduce fuel consumption by up to 10%.

These features are combined with a robust mainframe and construction that protects all bearing points and mounted components. To ease maintenance, greasing points are easily accessible and the reversible points are Durastar quality, with a tungsten carbide layer as standard, contributing to longer working life.
