The Devon-based dealership, Shinners Bridge Garden Machinery, has taken on distribution of the Farmtrac range. Having already developed a relationship with Reesink Agriculture, a word-of-mouth endorsement through another dealer was all it took for the firm to take on the franchise.

Managing director Andy White explained: “We were looking for a compact tractor to add to our product portfolio. We have a lot of golf course and holiday park customers and a competitive compact tractor really appeals to them. A conversation with another dealer alerted us to Farmtrac and a quick call to distributor Reesink Agriculture is all it took to organise for a demo tractor to be brought down for us to look at.

“I’m impressed with the product, it’s a lot of machine for the money and covers a lot of budgets compared to competitors. We’ve had experience dealing with Reesink and they’ve always been a decent company to work with, very professional.”

Mr White chose the FT26 and FT30 to begin with, explaining that these will appeal to his customer base. “These are what I’d call great entry-level tractors. They’re well laid out and they’ve been decent sellers, we’ve moved quite a few of them now.”

Having tried several different models, he has now also ordered an FT6050, which is a larger model to extend his offering.
