LH Agro brings in Carbon Bee weed detection system

As the new exclusive importer for the Carbon Bee system, LH Agro was showing customers around the weed detection system.

Retrofittable to most models and sizes of sprayer, the system uses cameras mounted every 3m to monitor the soil and identify crops and weeds within the field. It then adjusts each nozzle in real time to apply a targeted dose of chemical.

It has green-on-green and green-on-brown functionality, with over 10 modules, each of which includes recognition of various weeds. For grassland, this includes docks, thistles, nettles and ragwort. When a plant is not recognised, an image is instantly sent to the Carbon Bee headquarters where it is examined, and the system is updated for the next pass.

The artificial intelligence used can also adapt to lighting, crop stages and weather conditions, enabling it to be used throughout the growing season. It is fully Isobus compatible and runs independently of the sprayer, meaning it can be turned on and off as required.
