BvL to introduce high-capacity feeder at Lamma

A new 25cu m version of the V-Mix Drive Maximus Plus self-propelled diet feeder is set to be launched on the BvL stand at Lamma.

The twin-auger machine uses the proven BvL loading head, fitted with tines instead of knives to comb silage from the clamp face and preserve the structure. The driveline is also fitted with a creep function, enabling the operator to finely control the forward speed to suit their needs.

Once the hopper is filled, the automatic mixing system can be activated at the push of a button, with settings for the auger speed and mixing time. According to the company, this provides a consistent feed mix every day.

When the mixing time has elapsed, the augers will automatically stop and the machine’s engine speed reduces to an idling speed. As the operator does not have to stay in the cab, it is also possible to clean the feed table or push in the feed at the same time.

    Updated Dairy Feeder app

Alongside the new feeder, BvL has announced updates to its Dairy Feeder feed management system, suitable for use with all BvL machines.

Customers can enter their animal groups, feed components and rations. During feeding, target data can be displayed as needed and in case of changes in the quantities of feed components, the number of animals or the entire ration, this can be entered into the app.

Once feeding is completed, a variance comparison shows the accuracy of the feedout. It is also possible to view and print the loading schedule to see an overview of the ration.
