Agco announces new European parts distribution centre

Agco has announced plans to build a new parts distribution centre (PDC) in Amnéville, France, close to the organisation’s Ennery site.

The investment totals approximately €87 million, with the €17 million low-emission, sustainable facility set to serve Europe and the Middle East, as well as acting as the master depot for parts heading to North America, South America and Asia Pacific from Europe.

“This new centre is instrumental in Agco’s transformation journey to further strengthen our industry-leading parts supply to dealers and farmers in EME while offering the best experience to our employees,” said Jena Holtberg-Benge, Agco vice president, Aftersales Parts.

“This site is an investment in our people and our farmers, ensuring we can deliver the right parts at the right place, every time.”

The PDC will span 84,000m² under roof on an approximately 200,000m² site and is due to be operational by the end of 2026.

The new facility will continue to serve all Agco brands, much in the way that the Ennery site has for 30 years. As part of a 24/7 e-commerce ordering servicing, Agco will integrate advanced scanning equipment and automated storage and packaging systems.

“The low-emission facility will use renewable electricity, renewable heating from the metropolitan area hot water supply and the entire fleet of material handling equipment will be electric,” said Philippe Gehl, senior manager Master Depot & site lead, Ennery, France.

“We are proud to create a flagship, sustainable facility for Agco, which contributes to the company’s global commitment to reduce Scopes 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2033.”

As the area is predicted to have high water stress by 2030, the company has also pledged to install rainwater harvesting systems, enabling rainwater to be used in cleaning and sanitary operations. Agco will also plant nearly 200 trees at the new location to boost biodiversity.
