John Deere has announced that it will discontinue the Mazzotti brand and close the associated factory in Ravenna, Italy.
A statement from the company reads:
On May 7th, John Deere announced the closure and liquidation of Mazzotti SRL, the self-propelled sprayer business headquartered in Ravenna, Italy.
Twenty-nine employees will be affected by the closure of the Mazzotti facility. Support measures for impacted employees are being addressed through the ongoing consultation with the Italian unions and authorities.
The decision follows a period of low order volumes for this product and is specific to this business. No other John Deere facilities are affected.
John Deere remains focused on supporting customers during this transition. While the John Deere 300M Series and Mazzotti sprayer families will be discontinued, the company will continue to support the existing fleet with parts and service.
The company purchased the sprayer brand in 2017, expanding its sprayer range with front-cab self-propelled models to complement the mid-cab range produced by John Deere.
In 2021, it became an officially endorsed brand within the John Deere group, with the branding on machines changed to ‘Mazzotti by John Deere’ and various Deere technologies integrated into the machines.
This included John Deere engines, cabs, the M-Spray dual-circuit solution system and precision ag systems.
