Fentech Agri showcased its Sentinel fire suppression system, developed to offer contractors and farmers a quick, effective method of keeping agricultural fires under control until first responders arrive.
It has a 1,000-litre water bowser linked to either a Honda petrol pump, or a hydraulic pump capable of producing a 20 litre/min flow of water, pressurised to 20bar. According to the company, this is enough for around 30min of firefighting. A 30m hose reel is fitted as standard.
Fentech has ensured that the system can be used in a variety of situations and picked up quickly via a two-point or three-point linkage. It can also be fitted with legs to mount in the bed of a pickup truck, or as a standalone unit to be placed on a flatbed. It can also be fitted with a crop roller, to be mounted on the front linkage of the baling tractor.
The model shown at Cereals had a painted frame, although Fentech notes that future models will be galvanised. It is currently building a hire fleet ahead of harvest.
