Visitors may have been surprised to see Robotti units on the AAS Cereals stand, given the financial difficulties of manufacturer Agrointelli earlier this but AAS director Philip Nunn explained that there was news on the horizon.
Elsewhere on the stand, the company showcased the Farm-ing spot spraying system, suitable for high value crops such as lettuce, onions, potatoes and sugar beet, with testing underway for carrots and parsnips.
Available in working widths from 3m up to 12m, with larger models incorporating a self-levelling system, the system uses LED lighting and a camera system mounted around an enclosed application boom. Nozzles are spaced at 50mm, with development underway for 25mm spacings, and the system uses AI to differentiate between the crop and weeds.
A 400-litre chemical tank is standard, and the system is compatible with front tanks for either water or additional chemicals when working over large areas. The company states that the system can also be used for precise applications of fungicides, insecticides and fertilisers.
