Best known for importing the Horning range of corn crackers, Harvesting Solutions showcased a new product for grain at the event. The ScherGain drop pan solution system is a magnetic unit that mounts under the combine and measures losses.
Once mounted, the operator drives for around 150ft at normal working speed, remotely dropping the pan so that it collects a sample of straw and grain. The operator then cleans the sample and uses the provided gauge and measuring chart to show how many bushels/acre are being lost.
Once the test is done, adjustments can be made to the concaves to minimise losses. This not only increases the profitability of the field but cuts down on follow-up operations to deal with volunteers in the field.
The magnets are controlled electronically via a key fob, which means the battery is not draining when the unit is not in use, and it is available with multiple sieves to suits different crops.
