To extend the offering available for crop residue management, Kverneland has introduced the Tersus flail chopper.
New models will replace the existing FRO models, with several improvements, including a fixed driveline on the gearbox, replacing the telescopic shaft previously used with side-shift, manual adjustment of the multi-V-belt drive, and the option of a rubber stone guard.
Three models are available, offering working widths from 2.3m up to 3.25m, each offering 500mm of hydraulically controlled side-shift (250mm each side). They require between 80hp and 170hp.
They retain the same balanced rotor, flail tip speed, and hood design as the outgoing machines and can be front- or rear-mounted without any conversion.
They are offered with either hammer flails or Y-type flails, with prices starting from £12,009.
