The Volcan 85 from BCS is designed for some of the narrowest operations, with a minimum width of just 1,127mm.
Under the bonnet is a four-cylinder Kohler/Rehlko turbocharged engine, producing 75hp and 310Nm of torque,
available at 1,500rpm. It’s put through an in-house mechanical transmission, capable of speeds up to 40kph.
An electro-hydraulic power shuttle handles shifts between forward and reverse, while the mechanical box is split into four ranges, each with four gears. Only the top two gears break the 20kph speed range, meaning operators have a wide array of gears to suit the working conditions.
As standard, the hydraulic system produces 30 litres/min, with the option to boost it to 51 litres, supplying up to 10 valves that can be specified as mechanical or electric. The rear linkage has a capacity of 2,300kg.
The cabin can be specified with category 4 filtration and comes with mechanical or pneumatic suspension. The driver’s position can also be reversed to give a clear view and full control of the rear implement.
Three steering systems are available with the Volcan. The standard RS front-axle steer, the AR central articulation, and the Dualsteer system which combines both for a steering angle of up to 70deg.
