Michelin announces ambitious growth plans for European Exelagri dealer network

Michelin’s agriculture division has announced ambitious plans to increase its Exelagri European dealer network to 1,000 accredited outlets, gaining a 50 per cent share of the farm tyre market by 2024.

The plans were revealed as the company celebrates more than a decade of its Exelagri dealer partnership, which focuses on providing the best service and products to farmers and contractors.

Since the network was formed in 2004 it has grown to 770 certified outlets – 95 per cent of which are in Western Europe. The company has a 38 per cent share of the European agricultural tyre market – meaning four in every 10 tyres sold in Europe today come from a Michelin Exelagri dealer*. In the UK there are currently 43 Exelagri points of sale.

Mike Lawton, Commercial Director of Michelin’s Agriculture division in the UK and Republic of Ireland, says: “Michelin is identifying new growth prospects for its Exelagri network and we are confident over the next 10 years we will continue to increase our share of the European farm tyre market.

“We work in close partnership with our Exelagri dealers, ensuring they offer the specialist services required by today’s farmer. Farmers and contractors are much more aware of the impact their tyres play in their operation and so it is essential we have expert dealers out there who can offer the advice and support needed to ensure total performance is achieved from our rubber.”

To obtain the Michelin Exelagri accreditation, dealers must meet a strict set of specifications, and are assessed through an audit carried out by an independent certification organisation.

Exelagri dealers offer a range of high-quality services to customers including expert advice to ensure the right tyre is fitted for the job, guaranteed emergency repairs, even during periods of intense farming activity and geometry to achieve the right tyre set-up on even complex agricultural machinery.

All Exelagri dealers are trained in specialist ballasting to ensure the tyres are effective in certain conditions and can mount all tyres on site for farm machinery, saving time for busy customers.
