Air-Seal Products helps operators keep moving

The family-run business Air-Seal Products has been supplying tyre sealants worldwide for more than 20 years. The product range can reduce operating and tyre replacement costs said to prevent 95% of punctures up to 30mm in the trade area of the tyre.

A permanent repair for the life of the tyre, Air-Seal sealants can help to maintain tyre pressure by stopping rim, bead and other slow air leaks. According to the company, this can help to increase fuel efficiency by up to 3%, and the life of the tyre by up to 20%.

The product spreads evenly over the inside of the tyre as it rotates. If a puncture occurs, the air pressure forces aramid fibres and fillers to inter-lock and form a seal. In some cases, the driver may not even realise a puncture has occurred.

Aramid fibres are some of the strongest, abrasion resistant synthetic fibres used and were specifically chosen by the company to ensure that punctures remain sealed for the life of the tyre.

The Air-Seal Products range is used worldwide for on and off-road fleets. Sectors include road haulage, waste management, mining and quarrying, construction, agriculture, ground care and local authorities.

Smith’s (Gloucester) Limited has been using the tyre sealants for more than 15 years. According to the company, monthly repair costs over a nine-month trial were reduced from £3,500 to £1,200, resulting in more than £20,000 saved during that period.
