RSABI, the charity supporting people in Scottish agriculture, has appointed Pauline Macmillan to the role of head of fundraising.
The charity works to provide financial, practical, and emotional support to people involved in Scottish agriculture and, with its workload steadily increasing, the new role will be vital to help ensure RSABI has the income needed to meet expected demand in the coming years.
Ms Macmillan joins the organisation after spending 10 years working as senior fundraising manager at Macmillan Cancer Support, bringing a wealth of experience to the role. In her previous positions, she was responsible for a large area and managed multiple fundraising initiatives, winning an award for her dedication and determination.
Ms Macmillan said she was delighted to join the RSABI team: “I’m looking forward to playing a part in the great work the charity does to support people in Scottish agriculture. This is an important time for fundraising, and I’m really enjoying getting to know the Scottish agricultural community and meeting many of the amazing people who are very kindly raising funds to support the work RSABI does.”
Ms Macmillan will head up a team which also includes Margo Wills, fundraising executive, and Gregor Wilson, who has recently joined as communications, marketing and events executive.
Carol McLaren, chief executive of RSABI, said the charity was delighted to have Pauline on board: “This is an incredibly important time for the work of RSABI, with a period of change on the horizon for Scottish agriculture and many farmers and crofters struggling with increased input costs.
“One of the great strengths of the charity is the support it receives from the Scottish agricultural industry and it is vital we make the most of this valuable support so that we can continue to deliver strongly for those in our industry who need our help to get them back on track.”
