New sweeper attachments join Bobcat’s portfolio

Bobcat has introduced a new range of five sweeper attachments, extending the company’s range of road maintenance equipment which is said to be the most comprehensive on the market.

The new units are designed for versatility and are approved for use with many different Bobcat tool carriers, including skid-steers, compact track loaders, compact wheeled loaders, small articulated loaders and rigid frame telehandlers.

According to the company, the market for asphalt and concrete surface repair work continues to grow, with the network of motorways, regional and local roads in Europe alone stretching to 5.5 million kilometres, more than 90% of which is surfaced with asphalt.

”All asphalt surfaces need to be maintained and repaired regularly to extend their lifetimes. At Bobcat, we continue to invest in expanding our range of road maintenance attachments as we see growing demand. We now offer the widest portfolio of compact solutions for road repair on the market, providing a choice of products from planers, sweepers and wheel saws to our recently added light compaction line-up,” said Daniele Paciotti, Bobcat product line manager for attachments.

The five sweeper models in the new range provide working widths from 1.1m to 2.15m, with bucket capacities from 0.22 cubic metres up to 0.44 cubic metres to collect debris. All models are available with unified platform features.

Each model comes with a collection bucket for dirt and debris

They feature tougher, longer life bristles, with a new optional integrated water tank unit installed on the sweeper itself developed to meet customer demand. The water tank links to a front positioned sprinkler system.

The sweepers can sweep and collect dirt and other debris in both forward and reverse directions and are said to be suitable for agricultural operations, including clearing sheds, as well as various industrial, recycling and amenity tasks.

Said to be durable and easy to use, the redesigned sweepers use the Bobcat ‘plug and play’ system, reportedly allowing operators to change attachments in less than a minute. Key to this is the seven-pin Attachment Control Device connector, which recognises the attachment and allows the operator to utilise all features.

    Road maintenance attachments

    • The planer range for repairing potholes, surface cracks and ice damage, as well as milling surfaces and working around manholes. Available in working widths from 0.35m up to 1.2m.
    • The soil and asphalt spreader available in widths up to 1.9cm, or 1.96m depending on requirements. Used to lay asphalt and other materials to create pavements, widen and repair exisiting roads, as well as backfill, pave over and cover trenches, and lay sub-base materials.
    • The wheel saw range to cut through asphalt, concrete, frozen ground, wire mesh and other hard materials. These can be used for laying water, gas, electric and fibre-optic lines, with hydraulic control and cutting depths from 15cm down to 80cm. These are also offered with segmented wheels, allowing quick changes between widths (50-120mm).
    • The latest light compation range is designed to compact subbases and asphalt and features 37 models, including vibratory rammers (weighing 29kg) up to 2.6 tonne tandem rollers.

The five model sweeper range joins the company’s extensive portfolio, which also includes:
