Grange Machinery has extended its range of Low Disturbance Looseners (LDL) with a new 6m trailed version; the result of a collaboration with Richard Beaty of J. Beaty Farming, Market Harborough, who purchased the first model, and Claas Mann.
According to Rhun Jones, managing director, having a trailed machine has been a long-held ambition for the firm and will pave the way for further implements in the future.
It has the same features as the mounted model, with low disturbance legs spaced at 50cm, hydraulically controlled, front-mounted cutting discs and a choice of rear packers. The addition of a drawbar will reportedly allow the company to produce wider units, built around the same core chassis.
Richard Beaty says that initial field testing has been very successful and praised Grange’s flexibility and for allowing him direct input in the design. “Grange was very good at listening to what I needed, but also to what the wider market needed, and developed a machine that is closely aligned to that.”
