Kuhn adds lightweight, compact Venta drill

    KUHN-Venta-320-

Kuhn Farm Machinery has extended its range of Venta pneumatic seeders with the new lightweight, compact 100 series. Initially available as the 3m Venta 320, it is suitable for tractors from 120hp to 150hp and features an 850-litre hopper as standard with the option to extend this to 1,150 litres.

It can be used in combination with the HRB 302, HRB 303 or HR 304 power harrows. In this configuration, the drill is mounted on the power harrow frame, with the seeding bar guided by the roller frame. This allows seeding depth to be adjusted independently of the working depth of the harrow, as well as ensuring excellent ground following.

The seed bar comprises 20 or 24 rows of single disc elements, each with an internal cast iron coulter positioned at the front of the disc. This is said to provide constant cleaning of the disc whilst ensuring precise placement of the seed in the furrow. Downwards pressure of up to 32kg is applied.

Using the tractor hydraulics, the seed blower unit can is controlled independently of the PTO, which drives the power harrow. An improved design of the fan, with turbine rotation, optimised in line with the seed size, results in an oil requirement of just 26 litres per minute.

The volumetric metering system is electrically powered and can handle application rates from 1.5kg to 430kg per hectare. Using the QS2 control unit, seed rate can be adjusted from the tractor cabin and calibration is said to be easily accessible and simple to carry out.

It’s completed with a spacious loading platform that provides access to the hopper. A covering harrow with universal tines is fitted as standard and the basic model comes with integral lighting and a signalling kit.
