The third generation of Vervaet Hydro Trike self-propelled slurry tanker has been launched, with the company stating that nearly every aspect has been redeveloped.
Two models are available: the three-wheeler with a 17cu m tank and the five-wheeler with a 21cu m tank. In both cases, the tank capacity has been increased by more than 1cu m.
Both feature a 530hp Mercedes MTU engine, with a 50% larger cooling system. Power is put to the ground through a new VSG 2.0 transmission, which the company says produces 45% more torque at lower working speeds than the previous generation.
On the five-wheeler, the driven centre axle has been redesigned with axial piston motors and reduction gears, boosting tractive power by 30%.
To enable larger implements to be used, Vervaet has also doubled the rear linkage capacity to 10,000kg. This is combined with slurry distribution system that can include a 9,000 or 13,500 litre/min Borger positive displacement pump and a Cyclone macerator.
Vervaet’s Superfill system can also be fitted, said to reduce filling times by a minute and a half, with a turbo filler on the arm that bypasses directly into the tank.
The cabin has also undergone various updates. Vervaet uses the Claas X11 cab, and the Hydro Trike will be the first machine to include the Vervaet Machine Management System (MMS), a new user interface that will be rolled out across the range.
Production is due to start later this year, with pre-production models already sold out. The UK will get its first machines in 2027 via J Riley Beet Harvesters.
