Claas shows off restyled Arion range

There were plenty of launches on the Claas Agritechnica stand, including the Tractor of the Year winning Axion 9, but the company has integrated the styling into the new Arion 6 series.

It will be offered alongside the popular Arion 600 series, powered by a 6.8 litre engine, offering outputs from 185hp up to 205hp, and maximum torque levels 849Nm. Each machine is fitted with the stepless CMatic transmission and uses the Claas Power Management system to provide boost.

Visually, it continues the expansion of the company’s new design, first introduced on the Xerion 12. It has a sprung front axle and a fully suspended cabin, inside of which is the option of a premium operator’s seat, with semi-active suspension and climate control. The first time this has been available in the Arion range.

The controls are ergonomically laid out around the CMotion drive lever, and the machine includes the Cebis terminal, which provides full control of precision farming systems and various machine parameters via either the touchscreen or a rotary controller. The new range also brings with it the new Auto CSM option, which automatically triggers headland management sequences based on the GPS location of the machine.

The Cemos operator assistance system is also available on the machine, providing optimal ballast and tyre pressure information. Auto RefLine automatically recognises the appropriate track based on the position and direction of travel, reportedly making it far easier to handle awkward areas of the field, while the optional dynamic steering system cuts the lock-to-lock steering wheel turns by around half.

Finally, it can be fully connected to the Claas connect system, which enables fieldwork to be planned out from the farm office and sent wirelessly to the machine.
